Questions? Well hello there! Because as it turns out, we’ve got answers!

Q: How do I know if Get Fit Group Fitness sessions for me?

A: It depends upon what you are looking for and what goals you are trying to achieve. If you are looking for a fun, motivating exercise program that is guaranteed to improve your fitness and strength, then YES! We can help you achieve awesomeness!!

If you are looking for a friendly atmosphere you will love the camaraderie of our group.

Q: What if I’m unfit and can’t keep up with the everyone?

A: Trust us when we say that even the fittest of the Get Fit crew were worried about keeping up with others when they first started. Fitness develops over time, and – newsflash – you only get fitter by working on it! So really, the sooner you start coming to our sessions, the sooner you’ll see improvements in your fitness!

Each person in our session has a different fitness level and some people are carrying injuries, so we pay particular attention to ensuring our sessions cater for all levels and abilities. Your trainer will be there to demonstrate exercises and offer alternatives if needed, to motivate and help push you just a little bit further than what you think you’re capable of (trust us, although you might feel like swearing at them at the time, its awesome when you bust on through and do that last push up you swore you didn’t have in you!).

We design each session so you work at your own pace and no one is left behind. Our sessions normally work in a circuit format, so you can’t even tell who is ‘in front’ and who is ‘behind’.

And seriously, our Get Fit Crew is the nicest, most encouraging and friendly bunch about – they will look after you, help you and show plenty of encouragement!

Q: Will it make a difference to my strength and fitness?

A: Yes, absolutely! If you are prepared to put in the hard work and commitment you will notice definite improvement in your functional strength and fitness. Our members have and still are seeing improvement and great results since starting Boot Camp with Get Fit.

Q: Will I lose weight and tone up?

A: Losing weight is a hard question to answer as there are many other factors that come into play. We can’t control what you place in your mouth (although we’d love to work with you on that, if its an issue for you), but we can say that if you’re eating a balanced and nutritious diet then yep, you should notice improvement in weight for sure.

We can definitely say that even if you don’t change your eating habits. If you come to our group fitness sessions and work hard for the time you’re there, you will notice an increase in your strength and muscle tone.

Q: What happens if I’m injured or can’t do an activity due to another medical condition?
A: We can modify each session to work around injuries or medical conditions. Some of our crew are carrying injuries, some are just getting back into exercise after injuries, but with the right exercises and supervision our Group Fitness Sessions can help your recovery. All our trainers have completed their first aid training.

Q: Will I look silly participating in activities?

A: No, everyone is there for the same reason, to improve their fitness, health and wellbeing. Apart from the fact the crew are so lovely you won’t even be thinking about looking silly once you get to know them, I can guarantee you people just aren’t thinking about what other people look like when they exercise. In the 60 minutes we’re together, everyone is focused on pushing themselves to get the best results they can for themselves, and on helping others achieve their best results. And that, my friend, is exactly as it should be!

We do have fun and have a good laugh at each session, but it’s absolutely, without doubt or hesitation, NOT about making people feel embarrassed or excluded.

Q: So you promise there is no shouting and yelling?

A: Hand on our heart promise there is no shouting and yelling. Although, just to be certain there are no secrets between us Loz does have to yell sometimes to be heard over the music/wind etc. It’s purely a volume issue, there is nothing ‘you-will-drop-and-give-me-20-pushups-b*&^ches” about it (trust us, once you meet Loz the thought of her yelling anything remotely like that will make you laugh off at least a kilo!).

In all honesty, while we love to have fun, and enjoy a good giggle, we take our business seriously and although we will be giving you plenty of encouragement, it will be in a way that motivates and inspires you to push just that little bit harder.

Ok….this is sounding like it might be up my alley. What are the deets…

Q: How long does the session go for?

A: Each class is one hour (60 minutes). We normally have a 5 minute warm-up then move into the session proper. We generally do one to two core specific segments throughout the session. We take breaks so you can rehydrate (although if you need to stop a rehydrate at any time please, pretty please, do!). We finish with stretching and high-fiving if you so desire!

Q: Where, when and how?

Q: What happens if it rains?

A: All our sessions go ahead rain hail or shine. Jase’s favourite quote is “your skin is water proof”, and actually, after a while that seems to make so much sense that you will start saying it (maybe slightly virtuously) to your boss/colleague/partner/mum who is looking incredulously at you as you prepare to go to a session in the bucketing down rain.

It’s only 60 minutes of your life, and it’s only water. You’ll not only survive it, you will have fun and you will feel pretty damn satisfied with yourself for still getting a mighty fine workout in despite the weather!

Q: What do I need to bring and wear?

A: You will need to bring a water bottle, a towel and wear clothes suitable for exercising in i.e. joggers/runners and we recommend a long sleeve top you can wear to warm up in and remove once you’re warmer.

Q: Do I need a medical clearance?

A: Yes please! If you are male and over 40, female over 45, have not exercised for two years or more or have a current or recent illness or injury, then you should seek medical clearance to participate.
At the very least please flag any health issues or injuries with us on your enrolment form so we can have a chat with you, and if we’re concerned we can talk about getting medical clearance.
